Technical Theatre

Technical theatre is perhaps the area where the greatest opportunities exist for differentiated learning and specialization for interested students. WCSPA has a fully functioning scene shop, costume shop, and design lab where students work to create the technical aspects of our productions.

While all students will receive instruction on the basic tools used for costuming, lighting, and scenic construction, students wishing to develop these skills even further will find that there are many advanced opportunities in production design and technical direction.

Highly motivated students in technical theatre are given opportunities to learn drafting for scenic or costume purposes, sound and lighting design, and advanced construction techniques for costumes, properties, and scenery.
